Grace Lutheran was founded in 1874. Grace was also known as the Evangelical or English Lutheran Church until 1889.
Grace’s desire to share God’s abundant blessings has led Grace to become a standard in the ELCA’s internship program. The first intern arrived at Grace in 1973 and each year, Grace welcomes a new intern (Vicar).
1993 brought a new outreach emphasis, with the congregation becoming the first organization in the community to ring bells for the Salvation Army. Grace drew in people from other churches and this project is now an annual part of the West Point’s Ministerial Association’s program.
Grace continues to be an integral part of the West Point community, reaching out to those in need.
